Depiction of the historic visit of the Fifth Dalai Lama of Tibet to the Court of the First Qing ( Ching ) Emperor Chun Cheh on Silk ( a fragment of a larger wall-sized piece ).
The Ching , who had their roots in both the North and in Inner Mongolia shared a common Culture of Buddhism with the Peoples of Tibet, who are also counted as an ethnic Minority. Having just kicked-out the Han Majority Ming Dynasty, the Ching Emperor had great interest in forming Alliance and friendship with the Tibetan Dalai Lama and his Court.
The Tibetan Dalai Lama was invited to the Ching Court in 1651 AD , with the Beihai Park Dagoba being built especially to commemorate the occassion.

5Th Dalai Lama Lozang Gyatso with his typical Yellow Hat sect-Hat and Emperor Chun Cheh during the visit at the Ching Court. The yellow hat sect is still the leading sect in Tibet today.
