Arkhangai (Arkhangay) or Arkhangay Aimag is a Province of Central Mongolia. Neighboring Provinces (Aimags) are in clockwise direction - Zavkhan Province in the West and in the North-West, the Russian Federation in the North, Khövsgöl Province to the North, Bulgan Province to the North-East, Töv Province to the East, Övörkhangai Province to the South, and finally Bayanhongor Province to the South-West.

Ölziit Sum of Arkhangay Aimag is recognized as the home of a branch of the Ooled (Uulds) People.The smaller group of Ooled found in this district Arkhangay are said to have integrated with the surrounding Khalka Tribes thus losing much of their distinct culture while adopting the more practical Khalka language. The main center of Ooled life and culture in current day Mongolia is the Erdenebüren Sum of Khovd Aimag.
