The most popular Landmark to visit when in Xining City is the Ta'Er Monastery (Kumbum Monastery) which is situated just outside of Xining(Silung).
The Landmarks of Xining City itself are the Xinning Plaza - the main commercial square and attached Wanton Shopping Square, Central Square, a place named South Lianghutai Ancient Relics Park, the Beichan Monastery and Tulou Temple nearby, Qinghai Xining Martyrs Cemetary.
MOSQUES AND TEMPLES:
The Dongguan Mosque also known as "Grand Mosque" of Xining, Nanguan Mosque, Yike Yinqing Zhensi (Yike Yinqing Mosque), the so-called Bridge Mosque, Yuanshan Mosque and Wujiazhuang Mosque. Gan En Christian Church due West of City Center along Chaimadu Road.
Last and least important should be mentioned the small site of the NiangNiang Maio - a difficult to find small Temple in Zongzhaizhen Village, just south of Xining City.

Qinghai Provincial Museum, Xueyu Museum at South Mountain Park.
PARKS:
Parks within Xining City are: Main Public Parks are People's Park, Wenhua Park (Culture Park), Xining Botanical Gardens Park, Xining Nanshan Gongyuan - South Mountain Park.
Special Interest Parks in Xining are: Xiaoyouyuan Children's Park, Huangshui Forest Park along Xi Chuan South Road.
Jiuyanquan Ziran Tourist Zone with the nearby TaÉr Shan Park are situated in the extreme south-eastern suburbs of the City. Jiuyanquan features Hui ethnic minority architecture and offers views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Excursion in the vicinity of the City are: In Zongzhaizhen, due south of the City one can find the Chengnan Museum as well as the nearby site of the Tu Ethnic Minority Mores Garden. In Huangzhong Town, seat of Huangzhong County one can visit the Kumbum Monastery (Chinese: Ta'Ér Si) and associated Temple sites of Tibetan Buddhism.
Another minor historic landmark of Huangzhong Town, the Lu Ér Temple cannot be located by The China Report Staff (suspected site marked on Mastermap of Asia).

XINING ZHAN - XINING TRAIN STATION:
The Main Railway Station of Xining is situated on the northern bank of the Huangyuan River.
XINING AIRPORT:
Xining Airport is situated at but a short distance due south-east of the City Center, just beyond the outskirts of Town. The Airport sits on the north bank of the Huayuan River and can be reached via G6 Jingzang Expressway in the direction Xining to Lanzhou.
