The Outer and first Main Courtyard of the Lama Temple usually bustles with activity. As is the usual lay-out for a Chinese Temple, in this outer court there are a bell Tower and a drum tower, as well Bronze Lions as Guardians of the Temple. The two bronze lions at the Lama Temple's main outer court are of considerable size and weight and date to the Qianlong Reign Era of the Qing Dynasty (1644 AD - 1911 AD).
